I have placed a 300 dpi, black and white, tiff line drawing from PhotoShop into Adobe Illustrator 9.0. I am trying to somehow convert this to a vector image. I'm assuming that the best way to do this is to trace it using the Auto-Trace tool. The instructions in the Illustrator book say,
"Click on areas or edges of the placed image or drag the Auto Trace tool over the area to be traced. The shape will be traced automatically. Experiment!"
Well I'm through "experimenting" and I can't get the tool to select the entire image. It only want's to take separate tiny line segments at a time. I've tried, "Select all" and Shift + select but nothing works. Dragging the Auto Trace tool over the image does nothing.
