Hi
I think I'm in a big trouble now.
My pc runs win xp pro and I try to update to win xp corporate edition.
PC is P4 2.8ghz...don't know if it meets the update requirement...but I can update it anyway.

However, during the installation process, it stops at the '32 mins left' to finish the installation. The PC is not freeze but HD just stops runing.

Now I try to uninstall the xp update, but whenever I reboot the PC, it always goes to re-install. I also try to reboot with my xp CD and use repair function. Now it gets worse...the system cannot recognize the console.

Can anyone tell me how I can restore my original win xp pro?

thanks a lot

I am not too sure what version of XP you had, or what version of XP you are trying to upgrade to? Can you clarify what you are trying to do. Perhaps you can tell us the exact labeling (name etc.) you have on your old operating system CD and of that which is written on the CD you are using to update or upgrade to.

How to obtain Windows XP Setup boot disks

Make sure any Setup Booting files downloaded are the matching files for your ServicePack level.

Use the Recovery Console to replace the Boot.ini file with Boot.bak or get a Boot.ini file that doesn't have XP Setup as the Default Operating System. This will the stop the Boot-Setup loop. (These are System and Hidden files).
