I am getting a message to enter a password during the booting process. I have no idea why or what this is. F8 doesn't help (same message), ctrl + alt + delete only re-starts and I get the same message. Can anyone help? Is there a way to bypass the 'boot password'?
Thanks, Kimberly (visitor)

Someone has set a password in the BIOS. There's no way to bypass it - that is the whole point.

However, you can completely reset the BIOS to its defaults, which includes password=off, by opening up the case, taking the battery out and leaving it out for 15 minutes or so. Put the battery back in, boot up, and there will be no password - but you may have to reconfigure some BIOS settings.

I hope you're in a legal position to do this :) CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk
