I am getting a message to enter a password during the booting process. I have no idea why or what this is. F8 doesn't help (same message), ctrl + alt + delete only re-starts and I get the same message. Can anyone help? Is there a way to bypass the 'boot password'?

sounds like password set in the bios. normal way to get rid of it is to clear cmos (there may be a jumper on the mobo which will do this - or just remove the battery for a few minutes. You'll need to reload bios settings after doing this)

you can try default passwords, depending on ur bios. there are many default passwords for most motherboards.
