Can anybody, please help me understand the folowing alarm :
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Data warehouse maintenance program (ovcoldelsql) exited with a non-zero return code of 2 and the following message: Error: Lock of "c:\Program Files\HP OpenView\NNM\databases\snmpCollect\\ovcolexportPid" failed.\n Another instance of ovcolsum, ovcoldelsql or ovcoltosql may be running.\n If this is not the case, remove E:\Program Files\HP OpenView\NNM\databases\snmpCollect\\ovcolexportPid and try again.\n

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

try what again exactly, and what is realy the problem here ?

thanks for your help

It looks as if the file E:\Program Files\HP OpenView\NNM\databases\snmpCollect\\ovcolexportPid (a lock file, and "Pid", here, may be a number - a process id number) already existed when ovcoldelsql tried to create it.

If ovcoldelsql is definitely *not* running, you might like to try deleting the lock file and seeing if the alarm surfaces again. Mike
