help ufsrestore

hi,

i've backuped my files with mthe int tape DAT DDS4 using
ufsdump -0uf /dev/rmt/0
i've tried ufsrestore with all options but i see no output comming.
ufsrestore -ifs /dev/rmt/o
ufsrestore tvf
etc

i'm sure that ufsdump works fine.
i see dumping of the 3 mountings finish with "Dump is done".
tcopy /dev:tmt/0 ufsdump.out copies about 2go data
at the end, copy aborts saying write (32767) != (32768)

i would like to see the contents of the tape using ufsrestore.

Ensure that you have no typo.

try
1. ufsdump 0uf /dev/rmt/0n /dev/dsk/c?t?d?s?

2. ufsrestore -if /dev/rmt/0n

Try:

mt -f /dev/rmt/0 rewind

ufsrestore tvf /dev/rmt/0 > ufsfiles.txt

As far as I can see this should work to obtain you a listing of your files in file ufsfiles.txt

hi all,

I did again ufsdump and ufsrestore but i couldn't see the content of my tape.

ufsrestore tvf /dev/rmt/0 > ufsfiles.txt
gives a file with 0K.
you can see the output below

I have missed to tell you that you should rewind the tape first and then try 'ufsrestore -if /dev/rmt/0n'. But, it seems a unknown reason of no table of content from the tape. You may try to 'tar' file to the tape and read the content. Make sure it is not a bad tape.

I have tried all of these commands and it works fine in my machine.
