All:

I have been struggling with trying to get Cognos to use the WebLogic LDAP. I turned on the EmbeddedLDAPlog and I observed that when Cognos goes to the LDAP it is searching on objectclass=*, when what is wanted is uid=<userID>. We want each user authenticated through the LDAP in order to do anything in CRN. Any suggestion/solution would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Don

It has been a long time coming, but the problem turned out to me a WebLogic configuration issue where the parameters that needed to be changed were not changable through their log in console. A specific file had to be modified. Once we got this information, we had it working as expected in a few hours. Cognos support has release the information on their web site.

Thanks,
Don

The file that needs to be modiied is called acls.prop and it a WebLogic file. The ACL for the schema must be set to allow for anonymous binds or for a specific bind user.
