Hi all,
i have an SAP process that i can monitor. This process in this moment while i write the mail are reading an Oracle table. This table is very very big so its 3 days that this process run. I run the command truss with option -p to check if the SAP process is in loop. This is the explae of a line
pread(341, "0620\0\01A B JBC EC2AEFA"... 8192, 0X4956E000 ) = 8192
Anyone can help me to understand the output's fields ?
Thanks in advance
Walter

pread is a read of a file... 341 should be the file descriptor. If you have the proc tools installed (/usr/proc/bin), you might be able to find more information about this file by using pfiles. Also, pstack can give you the call stack for the process, and might give you a good idea of exactly what it's doing.

URGENT URGENT
i run pfiles to check my process. In a second time i kill the pfiles process and after i can't execute the command truss on the original process. I continue to see the process on the command ps. But the process is died or not ?
