help stuch in safe mode 1

every time that i start my computer it starts in safe mode, never in the normal mode, please give me some suggestions to getting my computer to start in normal mode again. I am running Windows 98.

Some history would be useful. Presume it hasn't always started in safe mode - so when did this start, with details of any hardware/software changes, crashes, viruses etc around this time.

When you say 'SAFE MODE' does it have SAFE MODE in all four corners of the screen?
