Hi all, I have a Definity v9 and I am trying set the clan,
medpro and an IP station.

Is there some documentation you guys can point me towards
or tell me the easiest way to set this up.

Thanks in advance

there is, but all you need are a few commands:

"change node-names ip"

assign a node-name for the CLAN and the MEDPRO, and type in the IP address you are assigning to each one

"add ip-interface 01AxXX" do this for each card, you will need to know the slot # for each card you want to assign. Use the node-name you setup already, assign the subnet mask, default gateway, and you can lock the port speed/duplex to 100MB/Full (recomnded). You will also have to assign an IP-Network-Region.. Use region 1 to start with.

Do this for the CLAN and the MEDPRO card, plug them into your ethernet switch, lock the ethernet switch ports to 100F as well. You may also want to modify the IP-codec set ("change ip-codec 1")

do a "list data" on your switch, pick the next unused extension #, and "add data next", you will assign port 01AXX17 for the CLAN, this enables the CLAN.

Once you have done all of this, you can "status ip-interface 01AXX" and see if you CLAN and MEDPRO are now in service.

Also, you may have to "change sys maint" and type in the card slot of the CLAN card, as a "secondary buss bridge" if you have a Definity R9 CSI....

The IP phone is an entire separate issue, and required setting up options on your DHCP server, as well as a fileserver which is used to upgrade the firmware on the IP phone. I would suggest you download the IP Softphone first, install that on a PC and try that out first, once you have that working you know your CLAN and MEDPRO are working, and you can move on to getting the IP phone to work.

Ok thanks Mitch I will give that a try and get that part of it working.

Ok I setup the programming for the medpro and clan.
However I have alarms on the medpro all 8 ports and on the clan

I think you have problems with your ethernet link to the C-LAN.. Try checking the cable. try "test port 01a0317 long" and post the result. But Before that check first the link connectivity.

Is your system a Definity R9 CSI (wall mount cabinet?) if so, you need to do the "change sys maint" and setup the "buss bridge".

You also must "add data xxxx" and add a data module for the CLAN, the port to assign is whatever the cabinet/carrier/slot is + 17, for example, if the card was in slot 01A05, the port to assign on the data module would be "01A0517".

Also, make sure your CLAN is plugged into the ethernet switch, and the speed/duplex match.

You should be able to ping both LAN IP's from a PC on your network, when everything is working properly.

My cabinet is a 600 and I did not see on the maint page
"buss bridge".

I did add data ext and data module and assigned it to 01a0317.
The medpro is 01a04

G600 cabinet, eh? Sounds like you have a "Definity One", shudder :)

try a "sttus link 1", or a "status data xxxx", see if you are in service.

cut and paste output from Command: newterm

tn2402 is a g3csi processor

never heard of that pack being used without a prologix cabinet.

You are not connected to the ethernet switch properly, you either have a bad/defective LAN port, or you have a speed/duplex mismatch.

try re-seating the CLAN card as well, as I see you have no MAC address assigned next to "Physical address"

OK I did get it work and I did see where I had chng maint
bus and it worked.
I will now try to setup a pc and use it as a server for the
IP phone set. It is a 9650 IP set.

OK so I have the medpro and clan setup.
I have a 9650 set and 9650 3.0 downloads on a pc.

When the 9650 starts it looks like its getting the
96xxupgrade.txt
but the it says bad file server address, howerver I can ping everything and even the 9650 set

Did you setup DHCP Option 242?

"MCIPADD=[CLAN IP address],MCPORT=1719,HTTPSRVR=[HTTP firmware server]"

Also, your release does not support 9600 series phones, you might want to try an older 4620/4621 phone. You could try to register it as a 4620, but not everything will work.
