Hello All,

I am running into a rather unique issue and was hoping that someone may have seen this before. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

I am unable to get SDM to run with GNS3. I am leaning towards a Java issue. Running Vista 32, GNS3 0.6, SDM 2.5 and Java JRE1.60_07. Will not work with Firefox 3.0.7 or IE 7/8! I get the first two windows and the certificate acceptance prompt but that is it! Of course popups are turned off and the "Allow active content to run in files on my computer" is turned on while trying to use this.

I have located another cool tool while researching this issue though. CCP (Cisco Configuration Professional)! This is the replacement for SDM. It's really nice but running into the same type problem with version 1.3b. I have set up my community of 1x 7200 series VXR router with IP address 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.248 and I have the Microsoft loopback adapter installed with IP addy 10.10.10.2 /29 and everything seems to go well just like with SDM.. I am able to discover the router.. but the buck stops there.. LoL I can not monitor or configure.. The main window stays blank... If I check Router Status I have an error # 2032. What I have located online indicates this may very well be a Java issue and that I should just wait for the non-beta 1.3 CCP to be released in a few weeks.

ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED (Other than switch from Vista.. I know this one!!! LoL It's duel booted with Ubuntu and I run VirtualBox with OpenSolaris but that doesn't help now... LoL)

By the way, I like the way the forum puts DUAL UNDERLINES below the Security in my CCNA Security! K.. I will stop! LoL

It does sound like a java problem. Typically, I haven't had java issues like this with Firefox though, so am a bit confused. May want to try back revving your java just as a test?

LoL Thanks Tim!!!
