Help Setting up Backup

I have Arcserve 2000 installed on my server using incremental backups. After the first backup week I reinsert the tape and It doesn;t change the label name ,which is the date that the back up was donee. Will the new backup change the label or is there a way to do it

Sounds like you did a Custom backup to a blank tape without specifying a tape name. In such a case the tape is formated with the date & time and the name. Next time the job runs to that tape, since it is no longer blank it will keep the same name.

Your options are:
1) Use tapetest.exe to erase the tape prior to the backup. This can be done using the Pre command.

2) Use the GFS rotation.
