IS-IT--Management
My company has just inherited an IP Office 403 unit from a company that went into receivership, and for my sins I have been given the task of setting it up to replace our existing PBX (JOY!!!).
The unit came to us with 12 digital handsets, an IP400 Digital Terminal and had a PRI card installed as the primary trunk. We have three ISDN2e lines but do not have ISDN30 so ordered the 4 port BRI card and have installed it into the unit. From what I gather, the unit will detect that the BRI card has been installed instead, and this reflects when you open the management software. Also in the front panel of the unit, the corresponding LED’s light up when one of the ISDN lines are plugged into the BRI card.
I have been able to get the unit up and running on our network, set up users and groups so that it works internally without any problems; however when you try to make an outgoing call from the unit all I get is a long pause and then a busy tone. Similarly, trying to dial the number from a mobile or another land line, all you get is the busy tone again.
I have looked at all kinds of things in the configuration to try and get it working but as yet have not found out where I’m going wrong. I am starting to wonder if the unit does know it has a BRI card installed or not. Any Ideas?????????? Cheers.
