We have 2 different users that are experiencing a Self-replicating ‘Task’ folder.

When opening up outlook 2002 from any computer, the 'Task’ folder in the folder view pane will have anywhere from 12 - 30 instances of its self. Deleting the extra folders only works for a little while the replication starts again. There is nothing in the folders.

Check the 'Tasks' permissions (the original task) on the user that has the tasks multiplying, look for a user name other than the owner and remove it. Then delete the extra tasks.

This usually happens if you have a user that runs Outlook 2002 and their mailbox has been opened using Outlook 2003.
