S8300C went down and it lost its IP. i can get to it through gateway to 127.1.1.31 and ifconfig shows its IP is gone. what is the command to chagne the IP, mask and gateway for eth1? im working remotley so being onsite isnt doable until Monday.

I found it but of course i need root or sroot i guess. thanks avaya! anyone know what i can do?

ifconfig eth0 192.168.99.14 netmask 255.255.255.0 up

connect to the "service" port on the S8300 processor with a LAN "crossover" cable, set your PC's ethernet port to 192.11.13.6/30, ping "192.11.13.6", when you get a reply, "telnet 192.11.13.6", then login with any login/password you have... at this point you can also open a web browser to 192.11.13.6, and run "configure server" and reset your IP address this way.

correction: set your PC's ethernet port to: 192.11.13.5/30, you connect to 192.11.13.6

thanks mitch, i wish it were that easy. i couldnt be onsite, but after a while the modem let me in and did that of course...but.....it was corrupted. Avaya fixed it up. apperantly i removed a patch out of order on the server and after rebooting it broke the VLAN for eth1.0000. it changed it to eth1.0.

Thanks!
