I was trying a program out and clicked to add/remove it, I selected' No to all' for the possible shared dll's.Now IE doesnt run I get this message,
res://C:Windows\System\SHDOCLC.DLL/dnserror.htm
1> Can I just download another SH.dll to overwrite that one? or
2> Can I reinstall MSIE5.5 right over the current copy without uninstalling it?
3> I tried safemode command prompt, scanreg/restore it only had one date in it 01/25/01 started r0000.cab thats way to far to go back.
4> Also tried add/remove MSIE & selected fix and still get that error, it didnt ask me to reinstall IE5.5

Any other suggestions? I hate this Netscape. Thanks in advance!

yea I think the best thing to do is to reinstall, you wont have to uninstall unless you are installing a previous version to what you have. Best thing to do is get a free upgrade from a magazine or something, they usually have IE5.5 upgrades on it...your better off instead of trying to replace a file here and there, it just gets messy... That doesn't mean there is anything wrong with that file. It means it's not connecting.

Did you try the repair option?

Was the trial program interbet related?

Check your settings under the Connection tab in IE properties.

I would suggest you check ScanRegistry in msconfig, as you now know how important it is.
