OPSYS: Windows XP Pro
Samba V: 2.2.5

Unable to load/locate roaming profile. I am able to login, however I get 2 errors during login. First is unable to locate roaming profile, resulting error message. "Detail: ACCESS Denied". 2nd indicated it is unable to load the local profile, and will use temporary profile. After about 20/30 minutes XP finally comes up and loads the "TEMP" profile.

** XP Side **

"Domain member: Disable machine account password changes is(Disabled)."
"Domain member: Require strong (Windows 2000 or later) session key is (Disabled)"

Change SignOrSeal registry key to 0..

I am completly at a loss from where to go from here.. I'm almost tempted to wipe and reload XP. I'm not sure where the problem lies, with the Samba or XP box.. I have no other boxes to test with..

Any last ditch efforts would be appericated.

One other noticable note..

Found the following in the samba log file.

[2002/10/12 00:10:31, 2] smbd/open.c:eek:pen_directory(1155)
open_directory: unable to create profiles. Error was Permission denied

[2002/10/12 00:10:31, 2] smbd/open.c:eek:pen_directory(1155)
open_directory: unable to create profiles. Error was Permission denied

Here are the permissions for the Samba/profile directory.

drwxrwxrwx 3 root root 4096 Sep 24 06:50 samba

drwxr-xrwt 2 root root 4096 Oct 12 00:09 profiles

In the profiles share, I think the directory mask needs to have permission 744; give that a go:
Nick.
