I am having problem importing ERwin model into Framework manager.
Does ERwin and cognos needs to be installed on the same machine for this to work?

And what is this AllFusion Repository option? The import wizard in Cognos says i should select the AllFusion Repositoty radio button while saving the ERwin as XML. But i dont see that radio button at all in the ERwin 'save as' dialog box, instead in 'save as' there is an option to select the 'save as' type as Allfusion Repository type, i selected that while saving the Erwin file as xml.

I am working with Erwin 7.3 and Cognos 8.4.

I am getting the following error while importing this xml file.

[WARNING] This file does not comply with the ERwin 'AllFusion Repository' XML format. Trying anyway...
[ERROR] [MBCM_E0015] Unexpected application error detected in (MIRCaErwin7XmlImport)
[ERROR] The tool failed with error code ERROR_IMPORT

I see that we can import either .erwin file or .xml file, what are the advantages, disadvantages of using these types?

When i try to import the .erwin file, it says ERwin is not properly installed on my machine.

Please help, this needs to be resolved urgently

I have no direct solution to the ERwin problem, but why not create an empty database from ERwin and import this through the metadata wizard. This should yield the same database layer in FM..
