Hi Guys,

Im in the process of creating some board designs for a new product launch, I am having trouble re-creating the background effect for the attached logo,

I have tried using the distort - polar coordinates filter tool, but cannot get the black and white colours to merge.

I am reasonably capable with photoshop 7 but struggling with this one.

If anyone can give me any help, or a link to a tutorial it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

...personally i would start in illustrator to create layered vector perspective shapes (from the centre) of varying tints of black, at varying sizes, and import into photoshop...

...you can also do that in photoshop using shape layers, and distorting them using the transform command (command + T and holding down command+alt/option+shift on a corner to distort a square block or vector shape)...

...i would then blur slightly, change opacity on some layers, make some white using a color overlay layer style, and also apply a small amount of blur > radial blur in zoom mode, maximum settings...

Yeh, i'd illustrate it all the way. You could easily recreate the background in illustrator.

Match the font (can take a while to find but a typographer forum would have lots of experts who could identify it easily enough).

Then as andrew said, take it to photoshop, apply the outer glow to the parts necessary, from there, you should save out as .pdf.

Thanks for your input guys, i do not have/use illustrator, so guess i am restricted to the photoshop ideas.

will give it a try tonight and see how i get on.

Thanks again

Ive managed to get the zoomed background effect,

any pointers on how to add the white haylo/ outline to the logo? i already have a copy of the logo, it is in as an image layer and not a text layer.

Cheers
