hi
i m considering buying a RAID mb
it has 4 IDE slots
2 regular ata100
2 RAID ata133
i didn't buy it yet

does that mean i have to have a regular harddrive at IDE1
and i need have 2 hardrives at IDE3,4 (ata133)setup at raid

total of 3 harddrives to configure a Stripe Array??
that's gonna be kind of costly right?
if one hd is about $40-$50 bucks

you only need 2 hdd's to stripe raid, and you will set jumpers and bios to boot off of it, you will use ide 3 and 4 each hdd on a different cable, you then can use ide 1 and 2 for your cdrom/burner or whatever else you want

i can boot from IDE3,4?
sweet then i don't have to worry about anything

fantastic, i can have all my hd run at ata133
and each of my driver has it's own IDE connector

thanks for the TIP!

ff

yes ide 3 and 4 is your raid/ata 100 or 133, whichever your board may be, you have to set your bios and jumpers to select which you want, if you have your manual it will be easy,

good luck,
will

i got a shuttle ak35GT/Raid yesterday for 32 buks. sweettttttttt
