HELP!!"Disk Write Error"

When are you receiving this error<any particular programs?> and how often is "recently"?
Normally that is a sign that the hard drive is having issues and could be failing.
A couple of steps I would try would to be run a scandisk with a surface scan to ensure that no errors are present.
I would also replace the IDE cable and check the BIOS to make sure it is identifying the drive properly.
In any case, I would highly recommend you backup any important information from the drive in case of failure.

Here is the exact text from the error message Im getting:"Disk Write Error,Cannot Write TO Disk C
ue to Damaged Or Lost Files".The error seems to be popping up after using the PC for awhile;30 minutes or so.I can simply hit Enter,and resume what I was doing on the computer.Then shortly after it will pop up again,etc,etc.The HD seems to be making that infamous grinding sound when running.Ran scan disk,and seems errors where found.I had the utility repair them ,to no avail so far.This error has not shown up for about an hour now.Backed up important files.

You probably need to set up some regularly scheduled backups until the drive is replaced.
Sometimes low level formatting will help, some times that is the final nail.
Of course , that will require the complete reload. Ed Fair
