I have a small, but easy to fix problem.. i have a local number 1010 that is on the switch and i need to foward that to an 800 number, but i cant do it.. the service that im fowarding to has a really long delay of silence before it answers so i dont know why.. i set up a phantom 2500 with the DN of 1010 and set external call foward to that number, works for long distance numbers but i get a fast busy after a few seconds, i confirm it dials, but when the silence sits there i think thats where something goes on. Does the switch "listen" for activity? is there a timeout on numbers that get foward out of the system? I can dial the number direct without a problem, i can foward this phantom to other numbers, whats the deal? IS THERE ANYWHERE I CAN SET UP IN THE SWITCH TO DIRECTLY FOWARD TO THIS NUMBER?

Thanks,
James

a couple of things could be stopping you, are you forwarding an outside call to a outside call?.. that's a total different set of problems.. if not i would make the number a distant steering code, send it to a rlb and insert my 1800 direct to my local trunks.. if that's a little deep, make sure you are including your 9 1 800 xxx xxxx in the forward string... another way to try.. grab a vacant number, make it an acd, maxp=1 and ncfw =91800xxx xxxx.. that should go..get back to me if neither will work in your switch
