I have a program compiled in visual c in a win2k environment. It runs fine on Win2K. but when I try to run it in Win98se I get an error "A required .DLL file, MFC42U.DLL, was not found" MFC42U.DLL is not availabe in win98se and I need help in finding a solution to run the program in win98.

Thanks

A quick search of the word "MFC42u.dll" on MSDN (msdn.microsoft.com) told me that this file is the unicode version of the run-time library. I believe that if you simply copy it on the system with windows 98, it will work fine. One article I looked at mentionned that unicode is not supported on Win 95, but they did not mention Win 98.

If mfc42u.dll cannot work on win 98, then you will need to change your programm so that it does not use unicode functions.
