hi im usin premiere pro 1.5
Ive checked all the system requirements and my systen spec meets them yet I cant seem to load premiere. I've never had this problem before and I've used it loads of times.
It always gets to the bit when its loading tht says "loading compiler.vrf" (i think tht extensions correct)
Wonderin if anyone can help
thanks

It would be worth forcing a rebuild of the plug-in cache by starting PPro with CTRL+SHIFT until the splash screen appears. If this doesn't fix it, then maybe you have a corrupt file or CODEC somewhere.

You might find something helpful in the Premiere Wiki at

Thanks for your help Arkibie however I tried your method it didnt work. It always gets to loading "compiler vrf.prm" I think some of the CODECS are damaged. A program I downloaded told me the following CODECS were missing: MCDVD_32.DLL I understand tht this is associated with the MainConcept DV Codec 2.0.4 which is used in Premiere. Does anyone know how to fix this and do you think this could be the problem with premiere failing to start.Do you think it is worth downloading MCDVD_32.DLL ??
Many regardsw

I have this file as part of the standard installation of several recent Adobe products.

It would be worth searching for this DLL on your system. On mine, version 2.4.11.0 goes with Premiere Pro 1.51, and 2.4.3.0 with Premiere Pro 1.0.

The Encore 1.5.1 version is 3.0.2.0 and, FWIW, After Effects 6.5 also uses 2.4.11.0.

In each case, the DLL is located in the program folder.

If all else fails, I would expect that you could find it on your installation disk for Premiere Pro.

On the other hand, in some software (maybe not this one?) the tally misleads by giving the component before the one that fails, so I would tread carefully in case it isn't this DLL at all.
