After we upgraded MS Office 2003 to 2007, all of the functions associated with MS Office in our PowerBuilder (version 8.0) application is no longer working.

Looking under the ActiveX Control component for MS office, it clearly says that it's for MS office 97-2003. Do you have any idea whether PowerBuilder 8.x has a compatible issue with MS Office 2007? Or there is a way to add MS Office 2007 to PowerBuilder 8.x

Thanks for your help.

Have you gone through the debugger to look at what happens when you connect to it in PB?

It's a problem of office having changed it's way of doing things, not a powerbuilder problem:

checkout where it gives an error. we have been using office 2003 and certain OLE commands have simply changed. due to changes in office locations of 'doing things' and probably also visualbasic command.

for example you can do a filesearch in directories in word 2003 and it works fine. Since they changed the way to do this in word 2007 our application crashed.

You must find out by recording a macro en word to do what is no longer working and edit the macro to find out which visualbasic code you should use in powerbuilder (if using OLE). One of the main reason our client doesn't want to migrate to office 2007.
