Help Plz..I am unable to install Dev 2000 R 2.1 & Person. Oracle 8.0.3

I have tried many times to install Dev 2000 R2.1 with Personal Oracle 8.0.3 on my Windows 98 PC, but have never succeded.
The steps I normally follow is to first install Developer 2000 then Personal Oracle 8.0.3, some times the personal oracle overwrites the Developer files (installed in the same home) or if they aren't overwritten I can't connect to the database from the developer or SqL 3.2.
My exams are ahead, anybody please help regarding this.

Try out this procedure, hopefully it works:

- Delete Oracle Folder completely (means remove it from the recycle bin also) wherever have u stored it.

- Move on to Start menu --> Run --> regedit --> HKEY_CURRENT_USER --> Software --> Oracle Folder. Delete this Oracle Folder.

- Move on to (same as above that is Start menu --> Run --> regedit) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> Software --> Oracle Folder. Delete this Oracle Folder.

- Now run Oracle 8 setup file. (Make sure yr Recycle Bin is completely empty at this moment). Once the installation is complete, move the (entire) newely created Oracle folder to the recycle bin (but make sure u are just moving it to recycle bin and not deleting it completely from recycle bin)

- Next, run the Developer 2000 setup file. Choose the same directory path as was done before to intall oracle. When installation is complete, restore the oracle folder from the Recycle bin.

I have complete new installation of windows 98, hence I think that i woun't have the registery keys before installation..
next i need the following two clarifications.
suppose that i install to c:\orawin95 (the default folder)
1) If I install Personal Oracle first to this folder, should I delete the entire folder (orawin95) before restart or after restart.
2) After the installation of Developer 2000 in the same orawin95 folder (the setup will create a new one i think) should I restore the original folder before second restart or after second restart.?

Another doubt that I have in mind is that when i restore the oracle 8 folder from recycle bin won't it completely overwrite the new orawin95 folder having Developer 2000 in it ?

Please reply to it as soon as possible.. i would be desperately waiting (meanwhile i will try the tip) thanks

saima999 I tried the following
On the new windows installation, I installed as follows
1) first of all i ran personal oracle 8 setup and choose the C:\orawin folder
2) then after completing setup I deleted the orawin folder
3) Restarted the system
4) Ran Developer 2000 setup . installed in the folder
C:\orawin with the following options:
a setup type complete
b selected all Intersolv drivers
5) then i restored the old orawin folder (selecting yes to all option)
6) Restarted the system again

The Results
===========
1) SQL Plus 8 works
2) SQL Plus 3.3 doesn't work (doesn't respond while
connecting to the database and also doesn't connect
to the database)
3) If I select shutdown database by right clicking the
sys tray icon the following error message is
generated
ORA-12547 Can not attach to Oracle 8
4) Form also hangs on trying to connect to the database
after giving the user name and password.

Now what should i do ???
please help me..
