Ok, I'm using Apache to host my website. When I go to "localhost", everything works just fine. I asked a few friends to test it out and they said they couldn't get to it. I'm sure I gave them the WAN IP. I think the problem is somewhere in my network. Basically, a cable connection goes into a cable modem gateway, then connects to a Linksys wireless G router. I get internet with a wireless adapter that connects to that router. Port 80 is forwarded on both the cable modem and router. I have absolutely NO idea why this isn't working. Thanks in advanced.

Magma111,

If your wireless router is set up correctly, it will forward incoming traffic on your public IP/port 80 to the private IP/port 80 of your Apache server. Does your Apache server log any incoming requests?

it doesn't appear any requests from any computer other than mine were logged.

Try browsing from the server to its own IP address instead of "localhost" to see if it's listening on the network i/f.

Magma111,

What happens when you attempt to access your Apache server by the public (WAN) IP?

Turn off 'Block WAN Request' in your router settings.

I would recommend changing the port. I assume you are a home user and ISPs mostly block port 80. Try to run the server on port 90
and then either forward port 90 from the router to the machine that hosts the webserver or , put that machine ip in the DMZ ip.

finally try opeing the site both from inside and outside the home network.

I second the above. I had the same problem a while back and that solved it.
