help!! Please cancelling reinstall

I had a small problem with some icons and decided
reinstall windows (repairing some files damaged),when I started reinstalling, my windows freeze up, after that I reset my pc but each time
it started reinstall windows and frezee up again and again
I want to cancel reinstall but I dont' know how,my keyboard
and mouse are not recognized.
For writing this I had to install another windows 2000
in another partition of my hard drive so it's not a hardware problem,
Please if you have any solution , idea o suggestion
let me know
I can't access my files for two days

Sounds Like an issue with the Hard Drive. Do you have another Hard Drive? James Collins
