We had a hardware error this morning and were able to get most of the Exchange server back but people are haveing problems with their PAB's. They can see their PAB entries but when they go to send something to an address they get a message that it is corrupt.

Also everyones PST's need to be run through the Inbox Repair Tool. Is there any way to do this for more than one at a time?

Thanks

We have our Personal Address Books and Personal Folders stored on the Exchange server. We back them up from there. This morning I restored all the PST's and PAB's from tape and they are working fine. Are you suggesting they should be stored locally?

No. PABs store email addresses. So does Contacts within Exchange Server - they are then stored at server level within exchange and not as physical files elsewhere.

Similarly PST files store emails and other things. This is done in the inbox and other folders inside Exchange. Much more stable and can be a lot faster (depends on your setup).

Assuming you have restored from backup and have cured the problem now, you are safe but I would recommend using Exchange's facilities.
