HELP!! only exports audio

here's the deal:
-im using a jvc gr-dvl310 dv cam
-im using the presetting of NTSC standard 32 kHz
-i captured a video (approx 4 sec)
-i editted it in the timeline
-i rendered the timeline into an avi movie

tried exporting:
-my dv cam is on rec mode
-"export clip" >> "export to tape"
-i clicked "activate recording deck"
-i clicked "ok"

on the dv's lcd, it only shows a black screen while recording. during playback, only the audio seems to have been recorded..

actually.. it didnt record the video's audio, it just recorded from the lens, not the firewire.

ok, update:

-i realized i had to be in PLAY mode then press the record button to accept AV in.
-but then i do the exact pocedure as above, but it doesnt record..


help!
