Hello
I am facing strange issue here. We have two database say db1 and db2.Both of thses servers are unning Win2000SP4 with SQL 2000Sp4 on them. Both of these server ar clustered.
The problem i am having here is sometimes when we RDP to db1 as soon as we hit ok at RDP dialog box the server restarts.
This problem is not very concistent and it affects either db1 or db2.
I have checked event logs on both of these servers but there is nothing about RDP.
I dont know if this is related to RDP or not but the restarts of servers have happended when we hit RDP.
If anyone had faced this issue or similar problem in past.
I will be gratefull if they can share there expereince.
And also if any knows about this issue, it will be great to get some tips or help on it.
Thanks very much

Sorry I can't offer any advice on your specific problem, however you might want to configure the machines for debugging so you can capture why they are restarting.

I'd also very strongly recommend that you put a plan in place to upgrade both the OS and SQL versions to supported products if these are production systems.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark

Have you considered using something other than RDP for remote access, such as VNC (which is free) or Dameware Mini Remote Control?
