I am new to informatica, i do have some questions, please answer to them.

Questions are:
1. What setting needs to be done in a Session to work correctly, if the mapping contains an update strategy transformation?
2. Can a Source Qualifier be used to join data sources from two different databases?
3. Can a Lookup SQL be overridden in LOOKup transformation?
4. Can a mapplet contain another mapplet?
5. Can you add user-defined ports to Sequence Generator?
6. If a lookup transformation finds multiple rows for a lookup condition, what does it do by default?
7. If a lookup transformation with dynamic cache enabled, finds multiple rows for a lookup condition, what happens by default?
8. Is Sorter Active or passive transformation? if it is active, why so?

Looks like someone asked you these in an interview...

1. You need to modify the Session Properties to do the Update Strategy work properly.. First thing is the Data Driven setting in Treat Rows as.... Then you select Insert, Update or Delete based on your Mapping Logic..

2. If they are from common source then Yes otherwise No.. You need Joiner Trans..

3. Yes..

4. Yes...

5. No...

6. You need to specify as to what to do... Either First or Last or report Err...

7. Session fails when it finds Multiple Values in a Dynamic Cache Lookup

8. AFAIK its Passive.. Active Transformation are those which changes the no. of rows that pass thru it.
