i have another problem.
i updated my AVG virus protection this a.m., and suddenly my mouse stopped working. i went thru misconfig and unchecked everything, still no mouse. i do safemode and i have a mouse. so i re-checked everything in misconfig. i go to device mgr and remove mouse, reload, and i have mouse until i restart my computer then, no mouse. what could be the problem?

I guess only two people know what mistake they did... one is you and the other is GOD.

hehe, anyways if you redo the removal of the mouse and install the mouse again it should solve the problem.... but you should select the correct kind of mouse... i would say use generic in the mouse selection.

And one more thing if it still does not do remove the mouse from the device manager and then restart your computer.. when the computer reboots it will detect it and you can work ... this is all i can say after i read what you tell us....
