My boss gave me a project to do. I am about to install W2K server to Compaq Proliant DL320 and join it as a workgroup to our network. What to I need to to do to prepare the server? I have done W2K server installation before but I have never had to prepare the server to join the network.

Help! Newbie in installing servers

Win2k Server will peacfully co-exist on a NT4 network. I have two right now while I plot to take the entire thing over to Win2k. (Our Domino and backup servers).
You can even have the machine join the NT domain if you choose.
You will want to make sure that your new server will not be a domain controller, run DNS, DHCP or WINS or anything that might piss off your NT4 DC.
It'll be a piece of cake for you.
