I have just received a new NAM harddrive from "the phoneguys" (Preloaded). Do I need to do anything special to install this? Has anyone else experienced this. If I need to connect to the system via null modem cable, where do I get the Norstar voicemail manager program. I have no documentation and little time to get this going.
Thanks in advance.
Brent

Phoneguys? you from the Toronto area?
You can do all programming from any set that has the 3 soft keys ub\nder the screen.
F983 to access it.

Actually, I was more concerned about the plugging in the new harddrive and turning it on. Is there any install considerations that need to be looked at?

Installed harddrive, connected, cables, and waited, and waited. I know it takes 5-10 minutes but those were the longest 7 minutes I ever had to endure. Heard the beeps everything is working.

Now time to re-program AA and CCR and all those mailboxes.

I know I can connect a computer to it, does this speed up any of the config?

So I have a Laptop and a Null Modem cable, what next?

You will need NRU software which includes Voice mail manager software(or the CD that came with the NAM)...see your Authorized Nortel dealer or re-seller for this product.
Since you are short on time I would do all the programming from the set...the PC is not that much faster if it is at all however it is nice.
Since you failed to answer my question I will presume you are James Bond then?

lol

Errrm.... You might want to check your voice ports. By changing the hard drive, the ports more than likley downgraded to a two port. Find the keycodes and re enter them to upgrade your system again.

Yup - and if you had more than a MOD2, you will need to put the old hard drive back in, to a backup of the capabilities, and restore it on the new hard drive.

But if you had less than 2 ports on it, don't worry about it. The hard drive that they sent you is blank of any programming. -= Beer is food! Is it suppertime? =-
