I would like to be able to make permanent the default thumbnail view to list view when browsing for images to send as attachments.

At the moment, when I insert a file as attachment, then browse to my images folder, the folder is set to thumbnail view by default, but under normal folder access from 'my computer' or windows explorer, the folder view is set to list view (to what I changed it to).

How do I change the attachment browser to list view and make it permenant?

Open Windows Explorer and click View | Thumbnails. Then click Tools | Folder Options then the View tab. Click Apply to All folders.

It doesn't work for email attachments.

This is the procedure I use to attach an image:-

Start outlook express
Click the 'Create Mail' Button
Create the email
Click on 'Insert->File Attachment'
Double click 'My Pictures'

This is where thumbnails are shown not list view, (this is what I want changed to list view) it doesn't matter if the 'Apply to all folders' is clicked, the default thumbnail view is always shown.

I'm not sure there's an answer that you'll like but this discussion might lead you in the right direction:

Outlook 2003 remembers the thumbnail setting once set.
