Help needed in Oracle patch 8.0.5.2 installation

hi,
i am tring to install SAP R/3 4.6b in win2k.i installed Oracle 8.0.5.0 with Patch 8.0.5.2.after the patch installation i got the message
"To complete the patch installation,you will need to excute some sever manger scripts to update the orcle RDBMS catalog".In the cd every information is provided how to excute the scripts but i tried to login sqlplus with the usernames "system/manger""sys/update_on_change","scott/tiger"...but i got login error.and i don't know how to excute the script.
1.can anyone tell,login name, password and hoststring?
2.did anybody try to install sapR/3 4.6b with oracle patch script excution?if so please tell me what steps should i follow.

a few ideas:

What error messages do you get?
How else can we tell if username/password is wrong, or if Oracle just isn't running, or ... ?

Let's assume username/password is the problem: Have you been asked during installation? If you haven't, they still may be the standard ones:
Usually it is system/manager. The missing a was a typo, I presume?
or sys/change_on_install.
You may also try 'sqlplus internal', without password, depending on how installation was done.

Host string shouldn't be necessary if Oracle is running on your local machine.
