help needed, i dont want to show unwanted entry

i have a subreport which has fields of the main report, and fields in the subreport. the subreport is a detail explanation of the products, and the fields from the main report are supporting fields like the name account number etc, when i run the report, if there are no products, for a particular salesperson, all the supporting fields show up, bcos they are placed in the report, when actually there is no product.i mean all the fields of the subreport are blank bcos there is no product detials, but the name of the perosn , account name all turns up corresponding to the main report, because there is a booking for a product, but there are no details.

my main report, shows the booking, the subreport shows the details of the particular booking.plz help!!

You might try doing a conditional supression of the detail (total) if the sub-report data isnull...

ex:

in the formating section of the report, select the main DETAIL section, click on the x>2 box beside SUPRESS" and include something like

isnull({database.product})

Alternately, if you do a join on the the tables, you can control which records show up by the type of join you select.
