Need to transfer a 6.5 instance to another server for testing purposes. How do I go about doing this (specifically how do I handle the Master db?)

After loading SQL 6.5 to the test server, have you tried to use the data transfer utility?

Yes, it should. The transfer utility should allow transfer of 'all' the system information. I must warn you there is much debate in the industry regarding the transfer utility. I have found it to be successful 95% of the time.

Will I need to make sure that the installation path and drive letters are the same as the production server? Also, the transfer utility will copy the files instead of just move them right?
