when I try to start up my IE it opens up 100's of times...
Is there a virus that I have and how do I correct this problem.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Al
I assume you have tried to uninstall IE and re-install it.
If not, that would be the first thing to do.
Next, try looking at your register to see what happened. opening a program is actually done by the register commands and it sounds like there is a problem there. Check the register with the most recent revision.
Hope that helps.
Hello. I am having a problem with either ie6 or something in my computer. Here it is. I request a download on the web, any file, image, doc, etc. My browser opens the dialog box asking to open or save to disk, once this is answered, it moves directly to the pages crossing over as if it is downloading, but it never asks where I want to save the file. After 5 sec or so I get a msg saying that it is unable to download the file, it is unable to contact the site and/or the site is busy please try again later. I have a Linksys 4 port router hooked up and my other PC on that and it has no problem with downloading. My PC is running Win ME and the other is running Win 2000 prof.
I have worked on this for some time, asking MSN, and anyone else who may be able to help. I have done all the initial things cleaning up cookies and files on ie6 also returned all my settings in my Norton antivirus and Zone Alarm firewall to default. Today I reinstalled IE6 hoping that would cure it. No good, it still does the same thing. I need a little help please...

You'd maybe be better served by starting a new thread over in the listing of threads...at the bottom of the page.
Lots of ppl will see this thread starting 24 Sept. and not even consider it.
