I have 2 backend database files that are getting corrupted every 1/2 hr or so. This has been going on for the last 3 weeks or so.
What has changes is:
(a) Corporate installed E-Trust Anti virus
(b) Corporate installed a ton of Microsoft patches.

I have the databases over the network being shared by over 15 users. Access 2000.
These files are over 18mb and has been working for over a year. I have smaller databases that works fine.

Please HELP!!!

Try to get your IT people to somehow (somehow) disable the antivirus from scanning MDB files. I know for sure this slows net performance, and it's a possible culprit.

As far as I know, there are no harmful security patches that 'break' Access over a network. I've never seen another post where that is an issue.

So check the Antivirus route. It's (maybe) possible to have it set up so it doesn't scan MDB's.

Thank you guys.
I finally convinced our Corporate guys that what I was suggesting to them all the time was the culprit. Yep, it was the anti virus.
According to CA, when etrust scans the MDB file, it 'tags' the file to say that it's done.
My guess is that Access tries to make sense of that tag as if it's part of a record and in it's attempt to repair itself just get corrupt.
Anyway, it was quite an experience for the past 3 weeks. Now I can get back to other business need.
