Hi,
A colleague of mine implemented a MSA 1000 SAN couple with a Proliant DL 360 G3 Server. We run notes off one partition and it has come to the point where we have 20GB (yes, 20GB) of 300GB left. We have 400GB free on the SAN, I thought that you would able to assign some of the free space to the current partition and extend it. He informs me that this is incorrect and that a full data migration would have to be performed to a larger partition.
I am a novice when it comes to SAN'S, does this sound correct? I thought one of the advantages of SAN technology was being able to assign more diskspace with minimum fuss.
Any information would be gratefully received.
Thanks
Earfling
