This modem is queer! I have installed it in win98 after some difficulty with the irq so it in fact does work. here's the screwy thing(s)in Win98: with the jumpers set for PnP functionality, the com port jumper set for com4, the irq jumper set for 3 ........ it insists on installing to com1, irq4 which caused a conflict. After manually setting Win98 properties to irq3, com1 (not changing the jumpers, mind you) all is well.
Next stage: in Win2K, which supposedly supports this particular item natively, with the jumpers set the same as before, the machine installs the modem and reports it as functioning normally, no conflicts. But when i diagnose it it fails. I have tried messing around with the jumpers a couple of times, but win2K does the exact same thing each time. **ANY IDEAS??** Email me! denodave@yahoo.com
Real men pray...especially techies!
