Upgrading 6i forms to 9i is a fairly simple task. At the very least all you need to do is copy your 6i FMBs to the 9i server, then run f90genm.sh (on UNIX) to convert and generate your 9i forms.

The only main thing you really need to watch for is the RUN_PRODUCT command. If any of your 6i forms use this to start reports, you will have to convert these into RUN_REPORT_OBJECT. This also involves attaching your report(s) to the form as report objects. Oracle provide a script that can be downloaded from the OTN site at
Be aware also that if you have libraries attached to your forms and you are using UNIX as the middle tier server, the file names of libraries (and any reference forms or object libraries) are case sensitive.

Note that forms 9i builder on the PC does not have its own runtime. Instead you have to run any forms you build in a browser using OC4J (an Oracle product that comes with forms).

Hope that helps.
