Ok, i'm guessing its a virus or Trojan
I've lost access to my CD/DVD drives, my anti-virus software fails at start up and cannot force to start.

I have D/L Panda, AVP, PCillin, norton and everytime i try and run setup, it attempts to uninstall another program?

This only happens on AV software, any other software installs fine.

I'm getting V worried....any ideas apart from format, as i dont have a recent backup!!

Many thanks

Chill :)

Mcafee have a free online scan option on their website. Go here to do the initial cleaning and confirm you have a virus. You should then be able to install your AV software.

we had the same problem with klez the other week.

You probably have the KLEZ virus. The scan will not fix it. You need to d/l the fix tool from the symantec website. Run it in safe mode, then reinstall av progam, update, and rescan. BTW, it is not advisable to have more than one a/v program on your system, as they will conflict and cause problems.
