Help me Synchronize a WORK and a LIVE version from the same server.

I am looking for a way to keep both copies on the same webserver (Live site/Work Site) because multiple users can modify the site we are working on and to avoid having to download a copy of the site on several machines.

It seem like I can only setup one FTP address to work...
and the Help file isn't helping much when I look for Ghost Sites/Synchronize....

Using DWmx 2004.

why don't you use file check in check out, and download the pages as you need them- or if you want to keep the work site seperate put it in a subfolder/ sub domain.

Sometimes, when my code just won't behave, I take it outside and make it listen to britney spears music, and when it comes back it's really well behaved. I wonder if it's suffering from post tramatic stress syndrome now..

Set up 2 sites in dw. one is for dev work and points at your work site but has the source is the same as live site.

Example

work site
local files = network addy of files
remote = ftp details of dev server

live site
local files = same as local above
remote = ftp of live server

then when changes have been made to the work website, anyone can just switch sites in DW and synch the live site. As you are all working form the same set of local files you do need to be careful not to upload someone elses dev work which is why the checkin/out facility is there.
