Help Me! stuck on AIX 5.3 installation 1

spent past two days trying to install AIX 5.3 on RS/6000 7043-150. But it hangs on the installation CD volume 1. The box can boot from CD but stops at:

I updated the firmware to the latest TPC05287 and the 32X CD-ROM(97H7610) Microcode to 1_03 also, but still could not get it to work. It has no problem on AIX 5.1 installation.

If you have any solutions or bright ideas please let me know.

Are you sure your machine hardware can run a 5.3 ? I'd check that out first.

the machine should be ok with 5.3.
you may have a console problem.
is it serial or gui?
have you tried connecting a dumb terminal or a pc with hyperterminal to one of the serial ports, like s1?
set the terminal to 9600,8,n,1.
