Whats the difference between a mapped field and an unmapped field? When I run a 'Set Location' to refresh the data, when it is fixing the report, it shows one of the fields as 'unmapped' when it is present on the report. All other fields are getting mapped. Thus when I proceed to fix the report after refreshing the data, that field then just disappears. Just for some added information...the data is coming from a view in a SQL server database. If there is another way of refreeshing the data please let me know. Thanks for your help in advance.

Unmapped means that Crystal believes that it doesn't exist, and if you changed it's type, it won't show.

I don't have Crystal in front of me, but there's an option there to show all types or some such, select that and it will likely show you the old field name.

Thanks synapsevampire! Will check that out. DO you also know how to change the data type of a field on the report thats coming from the database?

You don't change the data type, but you can create a formula that has it converted and use that instead:

Totext converts data types to text

cdate converts to a date

etc.

If you have a specific question, post it.
