Hi,
I'd like to create a pie chart based on a query for my marketing db.
The query shows mm/yyyy(criteria) and all advertising sources
my query works but when i use the chart wizard for a pie chart is shows one big purple piece, no source slices show up?
what am I missing. I'm guessing its in my query but can't find much info on making charts.

thanks in advance!

What is your query? What does the resulting data look like? Please post a sample. What are you expecting?

Hi Ginger,
what i want is a pie chart to show month by month %s of where our leads come from.
so a user would have to enter mm/yyyy and it would show a pie chart of all our leads.
like this:

Month
December 2005

Advertising source:
newspaper 25%
billboard 25%
word of mouth 50%

My query looks like this:

Field1 Date: Format([Date received],"mm/yyyy")
Criteria: [Enter: mm/yyyy]

Field2 Source
Table Contacts

The resulting querydata looks like:
Date: Source:
mm/yyyy Newspaper
mm/yyyy billboard
mm/yyyy word of mouth

I use design mode to make my queries b/c i'm a beginner. I guess I'd need to count the source columns?
can you help?

You need to have some numbers. Your result should look like this (make the date column invisible)

Newspaper 234
Billboard 188
Word Of Mouth 17

You don't even really have to have percentages, just a count. The pie chart will translate the "count" into a portion of the pie automatically.
