HELP!!! JavaScripting too slow in Internet Explorer 5.0

I've a script that has a bad execution time -very very slow- running in Internet Explorer 5.0, but that has a good time in Netscape Navigator 4.7 (my client wants the first one).
Anybody know some bug in Internet Explorer with the JavaScript execution?
I've heard that for MAC computers there's a PCC Database Registration file that when it's removed, solve the problem.
